                                                                    Tuesday       9:00 -- 3:00pm
                                                                    Wednesday  9:00 -- 3:00pm
                                                                    Thursday      8:00 -- 12:00

Goals for the Veterans Service Office:

Get all veterans in Pamlico County registered in the veterans system. I would like to have a veterans registration month to contact each veteran in Pamlico County. By doing this I could ascertain the programs most needed by the Veterans Service Office. Listed below are some of the functions of this office:

1. Medical Benefits Registration
2. Prescription Drug Program
3. Education Assistance Program
4. VA Home Loan Applications
5. Apprenticeship Program
6. Disability Compensation(Service Connected)
7. Disability Pension Program
8. VA Insurance Programs
9. Widows Pension/Benefit Package
10. Scheduling Appointments at VA Hospital in Durham and Local Clinics (Morehead City, Greenville, Durham VA Hospital)
11. Coordination Of Programs With Any Of The Above Listed Programs
12. Outreach To Homeless Veterans
13. Home Modification Applications For House Bound Vets

Most pressing issues in the Veterans Service Office:

• Transportation of veterans (housebound or vets without transportation to hospitals vet clinics
• Working with veteran groups to procure and operate vans in Pamlico County for transportation of veterans.
• Some emergency funds to assist veterans with emergency funds for water bills, light bills and heating expenses.
