WELCOME to the Pamlico County Register of Deeds web site!
The North Carolina General Statutes mandate the way in which we receive, record and index documents for our county. It is a pleasure to maintain, safeguard, and issue some of the most valuable records a citizen will ever need. Please note that we are a recording office and not legal authorities; therefore, we cannot advise in any legal capacity.
Some common documents recorded by this office are deeds, mortgages/deeds of trusts, powers of attorney, plats, assumed names, and vital records such as births, deaths, marriages and military discharges. We also administer notary oaths and maintain a record of all notaries commissioned in Pamlico County.
Online index searches are now available from 1872 to the present and can be found at https://cotthosting.com/ncpamlicoexternal. To access deed records from 1872 to May 31, 1988, please select the tab entitled Real Estate Prior to June 1988. For all other inquiries, please use the Quick Name or Advanced Name tab.
We are here to serve you Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We have a recording cut off time of 4:30 p.m. Please feel free to stop by to learn more about your family history and the history of Pamlico County.
