CANCELED FOR 5/14/2022 - RESCHEDULED FOR 6/11/2022!!

Water Outage/System Pressure Advisory

Certain water consumers of Pamlico County Water System are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to telecommunications contractors inadvertently hitting a waterline. Water department contractors will be making repairs to the system. The following roads are covered under the advisory:

Brite Lane
Orchard Point Road
Neuse Winds Road
Peninsula Drive
This includes any other adjacent roads.

Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.  Therefore, the Pamlico County Water Department advises that when water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice and washing hands) or use bottled water.  Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

Water consumers are encouraged to purchase and/or store water for use during the outage.  This office is strongly urging the water consumers to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory remains in effect until sample results are returned (24-48 hours) and when further written notification is issued.

This advisory issued on May 12, 2022.

Attention Water Customers in the Orchard Creek/Pamlico Road Area

The Water Department was informed that an unrelated company had accidentally cut a main water line in the Orchard Creek/Pamlico Road service area.  Crews are on the way to the location and will get water service restored as soon as possible.  There may be a boil advisory issued once the line is repaired - we will update the website and attempt to reach the affected water customers as we receive more information.
